Well,
it’s been a strange year in politics with some surprises, many disappointments, and several very positive developments.
South Carolina Republicans made some major changes to the good ole boy system and put a considerable dent into the establishment’s
power base.
Nikki Haley winning the
Republican nomination was a big surprise to many in the GOP who fought so hard against her. Members of the RINO establishment
got down and dirty which I believe backfired on them resulting in a boost in her popularity. The Tea Party and grassroots
volunteers were mostly responsible for her victories.
I have been fighting for Nikki Haley (my state rep) for many years and I knew that once voters statewide got
to know her they would support and appreciate her. Nikki is one of the bravest public servants and one of the only few state
house members to stand up to the RINO establishment powerhouses like Bobby Harrell and Jake Knotts.
Though we have a long way to go and much work before
the November general election, I feel that her popularity will grow and the great people of South Carolina will rally around
her and support her platform.
Many
members of the RINO establishment are now as predicted showing their true colors and working behind the scenes to
sabotage her campaign with many of them planning to jump ship and support the extreme liberal democratic nominee Vincent Sheheen.
You will soon begin to see Facebook pages, websites, and groups such as the newly formed “Republicans for Sheheen.”
Beware of these groups; these people are traitors to conservative values and an embarrassment to true Republicans.
State Treasurer Converse Chellis was soundly defeated
by fiscal conservative Curtis Loftis which was a huge blow against the RINO establishment who for many years have
controlled the state’s checkbook the set fiscal priorities to the detriment of the state’s economy.
Another victory for the citizens of our great state was the
defeat of Speaker Pro Tempore Harry Cato (SC-17) a very powerful member of the RINO establishment.
Bill Connor and Kelly Payne were both were unsuccessful
in their campaigns. I was warned months before the primaries by a powerful member of the establishment and ruler of the Lexington
Republican Party that they had to be defeated and he was right. Bill ran a clean Christian campaign against the well funded
darling of the political establishment Ken Ard.
The establishment could also not afford to lose the huge profits generated from the South Carolina Public School
System and solicited a popular General to lead the fight to maintain control of their number one “cash cow.”
The school system spends hundreds of millions on worthless consultant fees and buddy contracts. The teacher associations
will never allow a fiscal conservative who puts the children’s education first to ever get elected as superintendent
– call it the gravy train mentality or just self preservation.
“I believe what's wrong with our schools in this nation is that they've become unionized in
the worst possible way,”~Apple CEO Steve Jobs
The more people learn about the stranglehold that the RINO machine has had on our state the more they
will support political independents like Nikki Haley and Curt Loftis….The fight continues!
